The District Deputy Prosecutor General’s Office of Porto is the Public Prosecution Service body seated in Porto (at the corresponding Court of Appeal) entrusted with the direction, management, co-ordination and monitoring of the Public Prosecution Service activities in the judicial district of Porto. This judicial district comprises the counties of Aveiro, Braga, Bragança, Porto, Porto Este, Viana do Castelo and Vila Real [articles 55(1) and 56 of the Statute of the Public Prosecution Service/SPPS; 117(1), 4(2) and schedule II of Decree-Law No. 49/2014 of 27 March 2014].

Apart from the Court of Appeal of Porto (the intervention area of which comprises the counties of Aveiro, Porto e Porto Este and the Supervisory Court of Porto), there is also the Court of Appeal of Guimarães (the intervention area of which comprises the counties of Braga, Bragança, Viana do Castelo and Vila Real), in which the Public Prosecution Service is co-ordinated by a co-ordinating deputy prosecutor general.

The District Deputy Prosecutor General’s Office is led by Ms. Maria Raquel Desterro Almeida Ferreira, deputy prosecutor general appointed district deputy prosecutor general.
