Regional Deputy Prosecutors General’s Office - PORTO

 

The Regional Deputy Prosecutors General’s Office in Porto is the Public Prosecution Service body seated in Porto which ensures the representation of the Public Prosecution Service in the Porto and Gimarães Courts of Appeal and at the Northern Central Administrative Court; is also entrusted with the direction, management, co-ordination and monitoring of the Public Prosecution Service activities in the judicial district of Porto. This judicial district comprises the counties of Aveiro, Braga, Bragança, Porto, Porto Este, Viana do Castelo and Vila Real [articles 65(1) and 66 of the Statute of the Public Prosecution Service/SPPS; 117(1), 4(2) and schedule II of Decree-Law No. 49/2014 of 27 March 2014].

The Regional Deputy Prosecutors General’s Office in Porto includes the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Porto e Guimarães Courts of Appeal, the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Northern Central Administrative Court, the regional DCIP (based in Porto) and other regional departments; and oversees the county district prosecutors offices where it exercises territorial jurisdiction and the Administrative and Tax State Prosecutors’ Office in Porto (which includes the administrative and tax courts of Porto (seat), Aveiro, Braga, Mirandela and Penafiel) (article 65(3) (1)(2) and schedule I of the SPPS).

The Regional Deputy Prosecutor General’s Office is led by Mr. José Norberto Ferreira Martins, deputy prosecutor general appointed regional deputy prosecutor general.
